USA Volleyball Highlights
Matthew Gentry and Quin Zilch won the 2024 Men’s Beach Collegiate Challenge, defeating 2023 champions Ayden Keeter and Carson Barnes 2-1 in the final. The event, held at Stevenson University, featured 32 top U.S. collegiate beach volleyball pairs. William Kuhns and Ryan Merk claimed the bronze. Additionally, U.S. athletes performed well in Beach Pro Tour Futures events, with Tiffany Svennsohn and Kelly Kool securing silver in Burundi, and other U.S. teams competing internationally.
Canada Volleyball Highlights
Canada’s women’s sitting volleyball team won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, defeating Brazil 3-0. This marks Canada's first-ever Paralympic podium finish in the sport, following improvements from their 2016 and 2020 appearances. Led by Heidi Peters with 18 points, the team showed resilience, avenging a previous loss to Brazil in the preliminary round. Head coach Nicole Ban expressed pride in the team's growth and their role in promoting disability awareness.
