NCAA Women
The Texas Longhorns clinched their second consecutive NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball National Championship by sweeping Nebraska with a dominant performance (25-22, 25-14, 25-11) in Tampa. This victory marked Texas's fourth overall national title and highlighted their exceptional service game, which produced a record 12 aces in the championship match.
NCAA Men
The UCLA Bruins secured their 21st NCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship by defeating Long Beach State in a thrilling four-set match (25-21, 25-20, 27-29, 25-21) at the Walter Pyramid. This victory marks UCLA's second consecutive national title, underscoring their dominance in the sport. Key performances came from Ethan Champlin, who was named the Most Outstanding Player, and Zach Rama, whose crucial kills in the final set sealed the win. Coach John Speraw celebrated his fifth NCAA title as a head coach, highlighting his exceptional leadership.
USA Volleyball Highlights
Six veterans from the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) will lead the U.S. Men’s National Team in the first round of preliminary play in Antalya, Türkiye. These experienced players, including setter Josh Tuaniga and libero Kyle Dagostino, bring valuable international experience. Newcomer Gabi Garcia Fernandez will debut for the U.S. Men, joining a squad under the guidance of coach Andy Read. The U.S. team aims to continue its success, following back-to-back silver medals in the VNL, as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympics
Canada Volleyball Highlights
Canada secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Thailand in the Volleyball Nations League, finishing the first week of competition in Rio, Brazil. Kiera Van Ryk led the team with 22 points, while Canada's strong blocking and service game proved decisive. Coach Shannon Winzer praised the team’s patience and collective effort.
